BMW V8 Performance for 3 Series Sedan

The 335i Sedan is only the second model in the BMW range to use this sparkling new engine, introduced to the world in July installed in the new BMW 3 Series Coupe'.

While the 335i Coupe' goes on sale in Australia in October, the 335i Sedan arrives as an early Christmas present in December, priced at $104,000.

This extremely powerful, ultra-refined, dynamic and agile four-door is guaranteed to bring a smile to sporty drivers across the country.

It raises the dynamic barrier for compact luxury sporting motoring even higher than the acclaimed 330i Sedan, and even further above its rivals.

Providing remarkable engine flexibility, instantaneous response and a thrilling, guttural engine note, the hyper-efficient, absolutely latest generation high-precision direct injection technology incorporates piezo injection for the most accurate fuel distribution, with extremely precise ignition at a lower temperature.

The result is awesome power and acceleration and impressively low fuel consumption.

The BMW 335i Sedan knocks 0.8 seconds off the 0-100 km/h sprint time of the 330i Sedan, stopping the clock in just 5.8 seconds.

Fuel consumption over the combined cycle of 9.6 L/00 km is praiseworthy enough, but even more impressive is the substantial advantage the 335i enjoys over its nearest rivals. This advantage is not limited to more frugal consumption, since the 335i is faster accelerating, more powerful, more torquey, and lighter than its rivals.

In terms of output, the N54 all alloy 335i engine should rather be compared with a V8 rather than other six cylinder engines, except that it is lighter, more frugal and boasts lower exhaust emissions.

Thanks to its lightweight engine, the BMW 335i Sedan is blessed with deft handling and perfect 50/50 weight distribution for supreme cornering ability.

The BMW 335i Sedan will be available in Australia in automatic transmission guise only, with the fine-tuned six-speed gearbox controlled both by the traditional Steptronic shifter and a set of smart chromed steering wheel mounted paddles.

BMW's innovative and safety-focused High Beam Assist, which automatically activates and de-actives high beam where required, is fitted as standard to the BMW 335i Sedan, along with Professional Navigation, TV tuner and Voice Recognition controls, and Bluetooth mobile phone preparation.

The 335i is also optionally available with a BMW M Sport Package, bringing more sporting suspension settings, M Aerodynamic body kit and M interior features such as M sport seats and interior trim, while riding on 17-inch light alloy wheels. M Sport tailpipes also gain a chrome finisher.

The BMW 3 Series Sedan was voted World Car of the Year 2006 by an international panel of motoring critics, and has been highly acclaimed since launch early in 2005.

To date, BMW has sold more than 520,000 new generation E90 3 Series Sedans, and has recently added the five-door 3 Series Touring to the Australian line up.

For the first time in Australia, BMW 3 Series Sedan buyers can also now opt for a powerful and refined four-cylinder turbo-diesel variant.

BMW will offer three six-cylinder petrol engined models of the all new 3 Series Coupe by year's end, headed by the 335i Coupe'.
